First off i have a 1987 350tpi formula. the car has a rough idel. It starts up fine but the RPMs drop when it first starts and i have to hit the gas alittle to keep it alive. when it finally alive and running the car has a choppy rough idel shaking the whole car. I checked alot of thinks ignition system MAF new spark plugs replace my EGR solenoid. what could it be? I need help. can it be the egr itself I tryed looking for vacuum leaks but have not found anything.

 

check your idle air control motor. if its stumbling on idle at low rpms it could be a diry IAC motor. it sits under your throttle body. take it off and clean it and clean the throttle body bores/etc.

mine did this earlier this year and i took a look at my IAC and it was dirty as can be. Idles fine now

 

i know this is a long shot but did you ever find the culprit ?
