350 TPI is going in my jeep!
350 TPI is going in my jeep!
Already have it broke down. I'm getting a rebuild kit and I can't decide on the camshaft. PLEASE HELP! I've searched but theres nothing on this for an off-road vehicle. I'm wanting LOW-End Torque and HP and because its a Jeep YJ I don't need to go over 75 MPH. If someone can take 1 minute of time and give some much needed advice it would help out so much.

A crane 2032 wouldn't be a bad choice. It's something like 214 .452 220 .465 on a 112LSA and probably 4 degrees advanced built in. Only about 8 degrees more intake duration than stock, and a little narrower LSA, and a little more lift. I would probably use it with 1.6 rockers, too. A little more than stock stall converter would probably make it an excellent low speed driver. Only mild chip tuning would be necessary, if at all (if kept MAF).
I put a Lt4-hotcammed 350 and 195AFR heads into my dad's 79 4x4 truck, and a 2000rpm stall converter, and it hauls **** for a truck. Not soggy at all. The hot cam is a little bigger than the 2032 even (218 intake).

Comp Cams makes camshafts specifically for the 4x4 applications. I would look into one of those.

Re: 350 TPI is going in my jeep!
I'm going to pull my TPI outta my 88 Vette and put it in my hooked up XJ myself one day soon. Then slap a LSxxx into my vette. I think my jeep would love that upgrade.
good luck
