Hi, has any one ever run there GTA or Iroc
\Z28 (radar run of course) and I'm mostly
interested in a bone stock L98, but the Lb9's
are welcome too! I've been told that they
will come close to 155 or so, but i could be
wrong. Later -GTA

Everything I have ever read on them best I can remember said the stock 350 GTA would run 141 mph and a stock 350 IROC would run 145 mph.

I don't know how accurate the speedo was (car only had 11k on it), but somebody had my '89 L98 pegged against the trip reset button on the 145 mph speedo (figured it was going over 150).

I'm confused. Do they shift into OD under WOT? Because if not my 3.27 car would run out of useable rpm before it went 140 mph
ODB, did aluminum heads come stock on an F-body???

98_1LE,
Alum heads did not come stock on GTA's or IROC's.
Some IROC's and GTA's will shift into overdrive at full throttle. I have a 1987 350 GTA that came stock with 2.77 gears. That gears have been switched to 3.27 gears and it will shift into overdrive at 110 MPH.

Best 60 FT street tires 1.930
Best MPH street tires 99.29

i know that 140 comes pretty easy and with out too much effort in my car. I accidentaly hit 140 and did not realize i was going that fast. I was still accilerating pretty good too. but why the hell do you want to go that fast. It is scarry when you hit speeds like that.

yes a friend of mine that I worked with ordered his formula 350 with aluminum heads and dual cats.
It came with the heads but only a single cat. Then one of his heads cracked and when it was back at the dealer getting a new head they put on his dual cats. It would run mid 14's @98 without changing anything at all on it. Not too bad for back then.
