Fuel Pressure on dead GTA
Fuel Pressure on dead GTA
just checked my fuel pressure on my L98 91 GTA. When we first started the pump fuel pressure was at 46psi. Car idled at 38psi, and when I tried to bring it WOT or even 3/4 throttle shot to 46psi and then stalled.
I have adjusted the timing to factory, new spark plugs and wire, new fuel filter. I don't think it's my pump. I was thinking a bad ECM or injectors, any thoughts?
If anyone remembers this was my car that I bought and died on the way home and hasn't run since.

i dont think has anything to do with your fuel pressure... it sounds like its exactly where it should be.

The more senior forum members would say, "You have to have fuel and spark." Start your troubleshooting there first.
Is the ecm providing any error codes?
If you're getting 46psi at key-on (engine not running), it looks like you have proper fuel pressure. Even though you replaced plugs and wires are you sure you have a good spark? Maybe a bad coil or ignition module?

I replaced the coil with the plugs and wires, it was a cheap setup to try and get the car running. Ignition module got tested and it was good. TPS is good still, but old.
Re: Fuel Pressure on dead GTA
Yeah I should test them. I know the locking clips are in bad shape, and the guy who owned before me put mismatching injectors on it. I was thinking about getting a set of LT1 injectors.
Could this be EGR related?

I would say to ohm the injectors, if they are mismatched more than likely some have already went out and were changed, now the original ones left are starting to fail.
Re: Fuel Pressure on dead GTA
I think I will replace all injectors really soon. I saw completely re manufactured LT1 injectors on Ebay cheap, does anyone about buying injectors off ebay? I heard I should go with Ford's or Accel injectors too.
