I've been where you are a few times with my old Rear end. I finally decided to spend the money and go with a Moser 12 Bolt. It's worth the money and it really doesn't matter what ratio you go with. I have 3.73's
I'd for sure stay with the Richmonds. As for what gear ratio to choose, thats up to you. How did the car feel with the 3.73s? Did it blow through the gears too quickly, or was it hard to launch? If so, you might want to go down to a set of 3.42s. If it felt good with the 3.73s, get another set of those. I would recomend not going higher than 3.73 (i.e. 4.11), that is just too low of gearing for a TPI motor IMO.

Richmond's aren't as bad as everybody says, I think it has alot to do w/ who installs, and how its setup. I put Richmond 3.73s in my T/A, and then drove it 200 miles, raced it all day, and drove it 200 miles back home (after proper break-in of course) w/o a lick of trouble, and it still rock solid (knock on wood). To see my install, click HERE.
As for what ratio, it depends on what motor you have. I have a TPI Converted LG4 w/ stock TPI manifolds, and stock LG4 Exhaust manifolds, so switching to 3.73 didn't really net a gain, although I can now "bark 'em" on the 1-2 shift, but the anemic engine can't support the RPMs needed to make the 3.73 work. I simply run out of steam at 4500+ RPMs, so I would have probably been better w/ 3.42 or something.

Depends on what you want to do. You said you use it for street/strip. The 3.73s should be fairly solid. I've got 3.23s in mine, can destroy a Honda off the line, and still get 25 mpg on the 500 mile drive home. Stay with Richmond.

gears like the cam are better if they are a shade under what you think is ideal for your engine. my car would come off the line fierce with 3.73's but the rpms would be too high on the highway. i think that 3.42's would be perfect for my car but i don't think it is worth changeing the 3.23's i have for 3.42's. i might go 2 tenths quicker but for $700 (i would have to recalibrate the speedo too) there are better ways to spend my money. your car should work great with 3.73's they should e right for your car because it can turn the rpms nessisary for the gear ratio. I would say go with presision gear.

Richmonds are Okay, but they are noisier than other gears. I recommend GM/Motive Gears. I used to work for the manufacturer and they are excellent. Make sure the gears you buy are made in the USA, not Italy. The Italian gear sets are crap.
When ordering the gears how would u know where the gears are comming from?
