1995 LT1 intake to 1972 Vette 350

Will a 1995 LT1 intake fit a 1972 350 engine without major mods.

yes.

The only tools you Will need are a 3/8 Drill Bit and a 5/16's Tap.

and A few tubes of RTV.

lay the intake on the heads, and mark out where the new intake bolt holes should Go. Pull the intake off and Drill out and Tap the Holes.

Then, apply liberal amounts of RTV to the intake surface. Lower it Onto the heads and bolt it On ligtly. Then fill In any visible Gaps with liberal Amounts of Ultra Copper RTV.

let it sit overnight, and the next day come back and Torque The Bolts Down.

You should be In good Shape.

Any Questions, Email Ed Maher. he's The one who Showed me how. I am running mid 11's On my Lg4 With this Intake And Nothing else.

Except a Bypased TB.

He forgot to drill the holes for the coolant outlets. The LT1 intake doesn't have the outlets that go to the radiator, and neither do the heads. So, after you get it bolted down, you take a 5/8" drill bit and bore straight down till you hit the water jacket in the heads (it'll get real easy) Then you just epoxy some tubes up and run it into the radiator inlet. This doesn't have a radiator, but thats OK, you want to run cool for max power.
Bort forgtot to drill the outlets, so thats why he's complaining about overheating in another post. Crazy hippy californians, prolly off runin around with loose women.

My LG-1 Is air cooled, A little trick I picked up in germany.

That overheating Problem Is with My 4.3L V6 With Chopped Afr 190's and Shortend LT4 HOT cam.

Are you sure the new holes won't hit a water port or something? What about the distributor
Will the shaft length be ok?

The Dist will line up perfectly.

As for the bolt holes Hitting water jackets, They shouldnt. But if you do happend to nick One, Just apply RTV to the bolts as they Go in.

And My Shaft length is More than Adequate, thank you.

I recommend converting to opti-spark like they use on the vette. All you have to do is rivet it to your timing cover. Then you use a long dowel pin on the cam to drive it when you install it. Oh yeah, u have to cut a whoile in the timing cover for the dowel, use RTV.
Dude, do it, you'll run 11s for sure.

Good Point Ed, forgot to Mention that.

Another reason For Converting to Air-Cooling.
Much less likely to get moisture in Your Opti-Spark and destroy It, as they are so famous for doing

DUDDE! thats why you use the vette opti, it has an o ring or some **** that keeps out the water. Plus the connector comes out on the good side for swaps.

Maybe I should have mentioned that I already have a 91 Camaro speed density TPI installed. Was planning on swapping out the intakes (got a great deal to buy the LT1 intake) and wiring my harness into the LT1. By the way, I understand adequete is the difference in sitting and standing.

I prefer a powerglide.

It keeps the RPM Up, where the LT1 induction Makes its power.

it Also simplyfies the shifting Choices So even My sister can drive it.

I got a Ratcheting Shifter from www.johndeer.com That is marked

"Turtle-Rabbit-Neutral-Reverse-park"

With a Fully manual valvebody and transbreak, I can Do wheelstands Off stoplights.

Hey, I've got one of the rare '83 solid axle steel body vettes. You should see the smoke that comes off that bad boy when that roaring straight 6 busts the front tires loose....

Would all your answers remain the same if I told you it is a 1996 LT1 intake instead of 1995?
