suggestions for modding a stock 89 L98?
i'm buying a 89 iroc with the L89 350 tpi motor,...this is a 40k mile garage kept, pretty much immaculate car....its completely bone stock, even the exhaust....
my question is this...i'm wanting more power out of this car, but not wanting to do anything that would take away the total value of the car.....that make sense???
i guess you might say i want to get some "hidden hp".and still retain the stock looks...what is the first thing you guys recommend i do???
i've searched, but honestly i still am unsure...seems like the air foil is a waste of $, which oddly enough was going to be my first mod, so anyways, i'd like your suggestions-
thanks alot guys

Do a search for Free Mods. You should find a lot.

I would put subframe connectors on! Better exhaust, possibly heads and a cam. Just to give it that balsy sound. You would probably spend around 1000

Not sure what will take away from the value of the car but i guess that would be anything that is visably different to the motor/trans/etc
What i'd do would be what i did in my sig...but may take away the value of the car, idk. my mods were good for 12.9's. probly has 12.8x's in it with better gears, more stall and better tune
else i'd go with big tube runners/base to keep TPI and make it look still stock. Add 1.6 rockers and portmatch the base to the heads. full exhaust and small torque converter, like 2400 stall if your not wanting to race too much. then tune it....should be good for near 250whp and possible chance at bottom 13's with good tire and gears. Suspension mods is a nice addition too and shouldnt hurt the value of the car but then again i dont know anything about the value of these cars

I second what the guys above are saying:
- Headers and Exhaust + Intake Runners + Optimize that with a solid tune
- Welded in Frame Connectors - This is key for f-bodies

Relocated lower control arm. Make the car HOOK and HOOK hard out of the hole. I have run a 14.9 @ 85 MPH in a near bone stock L03 car (open element, TBI mods, Headers, Exhaust, Chip) with just tire and chassis mods.
