I have a 92 Trans Am convertable, just replaced the fact. 2.73 with a 3.73.
Its a 305 auto. What speedo gear do i need? Also im running into trouble with the engine missing at around 70mph? or so. Its more like its cutting out, no matter what the rpm is.
I took it to the track today, and about 3700 rpm's, and about 5/16 of a mile down the track it started cutting out. It was more like a electrical cutout vs. a fuel cutout. Does my prom need reprogrammed for the new gears? Or is my spark condenser going bad?

I haven't dealt with your problems before, but the first thing I would recommend is a search on speedo gears. This is a common thing people deal with, so I'm quite sure the solution has been given many times. You'll probably have to get a gear that has the same number of teeth as your current one, but multiplied by 2.73/3.73.

Holy cow... i just read my post i wrote a 4 a.m. I mean 3/16 of a mile and ingition module! Anyways my problems are linked together. Since i didnt change the speedo gear, my computer thinks im going 125 when im doing 75, so its hitting the top speed governor! BINGO. Change the gears, problem solved! Thanks for the replys!
