ported tpi or mini ram??
ok well here is my delema. i am getting a ne engine for my IROC. i have desided to use AFR heads. but im not sure on the intake and up part. i like the mini-ram set up *and additional power* but the mechanic i have now *who is really really good and only works on 82-01 camaros, firebirds, and vettes* says that it would be better to go with the tpi and get bigger runners,not longer but bigger in size for more air flow, intake, ect. he said this because on the TPIS charts*and out of all the engines he has built* it shows the mini ram has alot less hp and tq in the beginning. but then at around 6000+ rpms is where is gets its 100+ hp over a modified tpi set up. *well i hope u guy who know what chart i am talking about know what i mean.*
so what do i do.. go for the extra 100 hp and 100 tq but "wait" an extra 1000 rpms or get 300 lbs of tq @ 1500 rpms where as the mini ram is like in the 200's still.
novaguy.. i hope u read this. i havent seen u on for a while. but if i find u ill be chating with you.

Car = 1985 Z-28 w/ GM ZZ4 engine and LT4 "HOT" camshaft.
MiniRam Power = Blue and Green
TPI Power = Red. This is a FULLY upgraded TPI intake (AS&M extruded LTRs, *PORTED* Edelbrock Hi-Flo base, ported plenum.
Full details are here:

Long and short of it:
1) MiniRam makes 31 more hp and the TPI makes 38 more ft/lbs.
2) TPI Horsepower starts dropping after 4800rpms.
