TPI 5.0 - 1991 Z28

I have a 91 Z with a non-modified 305.

I am in the process of having a 4.10 Eaton POSI Disc rear installed. So to get the best out of this I need to modify my engine (had a 5.7 but my buddy just killed his engine in a '79 Z) He picked the parts up for me so.....

Anyway what can I do to modify my exisiting engine to get the most out of my new rear. (Oh for those of you saying why did a get a rear like that, it was almost new and cost me $150).

a t-56 swap would work well with those gears You can even keep some gas mileage.

Re: TPI 5.0 - 1991 Z28

steep gears for a TPI!!!!

BIG cam/ good flowing heads/ and (i have never said this before bc i dont believe it) RIP OFF THE TPI!!

the 4.10s are goiing to get your outa the hole and ur powerband in quite a hurry, switching to a better form of intake will prob net more power since your gona be reving this thing to the moon. i dont think ur shift points are gona be 5000-5200 with that TPI lol.

What kind of dough will that Tranny rebuild cost?

Worst come to worst I will trade someone my gears for a 3.73!!!

it depends, on a few things mostly upwards of $1700, but youll have a tranny that will deal with any future combo. u will ever want to run.
