OK This might be long but hope someone can help !

I just bought a 92 camaro 305 TBI And cant get it to run ... Wierd this is sometimes it will and sometimes it wont . Seems to lack power but engine runs smooth . Problem is when i start it sometimes it will adle good for about 3 seconds then drops almost to stalling speed and then way up to 2500 then back down and back up . and sometimes its steady around 1000 but hten everytime i put it in reverse or drive it stalls unless i keep giving it some gas . But then i take off and it starts bucking it will go until it hits 2500 rpm and then bogg to about 1000 and continue to do this until it hits about 20 mph sometimes it will start doing it at 55 and stall out no matter what i do . Ive replaced knock sensor, fuel injectors , regulater and filter , map sensor , TPS , IAC , ECM , Coolent Sensor , EGR , O2 Sensor , Distributor Cap , Rotory Button , Ingnition module , PCV valve , I think thats all It just seems like its starving for fuel . Have not tested fuel pressure yet (forgive me ) Im leaning towards fuel pump but not wanting to pull tank anything else it could be ???

I would check the fuel pressure. When my pump was failing, it stalled like you are describing.

 

Or you have an enormous vacuum leak...

OK thanks guys ... may be interested Ray Ill let you know depending on how much more money i spend fixing this prob ... yea mine is mint also ... few scratches on front Spoiler but nothing else ... Ill update when i know something ... thanks guys !

 

definitely check for vac leaks and fuel pressure (either to much or lack of) u could hook up a gauge and monitor the pressure while the car is bucking, idling low. i had a similar issue on my 350.

 

It sounds to me like a plug wire burnt I also have a 92 RS with a similar probelm the number 5 plugwire has burnt twice due to the wire rubbing against the air injecton tubes coming out of the manifolds.
