Leaking oil, help!
I have a TPI 350... It was leaking oil (i could smell it and it would smoke from time to time.) I saw oil on top of my intake manifold, so i assumed the oil was leaking out of my valve cover gaskets. So, i replaced my gaskets about 2 weeks ago. It seemed alright after i did it. I would smell oil here and there, but no smoke. I figured there was just more oil that haddent been burnt off yet. Well today i pulled into a gas station and a big cloud of smoke came out from my hood and i could really smell the oil. So obviously its still leaking oil somewhere, but i have absolutely no idea where it could possibly be coming from. Can anyone please help me out.
Thank You

I would look at your VC gaskets and make sure they are tight and installed properly (even the best mechanics can make mistakes in a hurry).
Then where at on your intake is oil setting? Up front, rear, etc?
Intake gaskets
dizzy gasket

its setting kinda right in the middle under the runners, if that helps explain it at all. and i will take your advice and double check the vc gaskets. By the way, my haynes manual said to tighting them to 7.5 ft lbs, is that correct?

Re: Leaking oil, help!
Oil can seep up through the threads of some of the intake manifold bolts. Once up, it pools/collects in the pockets of the manifold by the base of the runners. I hope I am explaining myself here. If this is the problem you can remove them one at a time and put some silicone or other appropriate thread sealer on the threads and re-install the bolts. This should keep the oil from seeping up.
