ECM OR E-PROM

i have an 1987 i roc-z and for the longest time i've had a check engine light on in my car is is a code 36 and recently pulled the motor and rebuilt it and when i did this i pulled apart the wiring harness and checked for any broken wires and shorts but i only found 1 but that didn't fix it , i have changed all the mass air sensor relays and mass air sensor with new gm replacement parts no change so the only thing left is the ECM or E-PROM , now code 36 is burn off relay curcuit and i am wondering if the ecm itself controls the maf burnoff relay curcuit or does the e-prom contain the curcuit for the maf burnoff, i kno that the e-prom contains all the peramitters for the emissions controls and the fuel injection and the burn off curcuit does nuthing when the engine is running only when you turn it off . so if anyone knows if i just have to replace the ecm or the e-prom to fix this thanks .

Re: ECM OR E-PROM

Check the MAf connector real close. On mine, one of the pins would slide up into the connector when I connected it to the maf. When I un-plugged it, the pin would slide back down in position and look normal. Took me a couple of weeks to find that one!

It highly unlikely the ecm/prom is the problem.
