I was interested in getting a new cam for my 86 IROC with a 305 TPI, cause it has the peanut cam in it and from what I hear that is a really crappy cam. So who is good to get a new cam from? I hear Comp Cams or Crane cams are good? If I get a new cam, what exactly do I need to look for? Is there anything I have to add if I get a new cam? If there is a site that explains this, could I get an address? Or maybe a book? Thanks.

IT IS MADE TO WORK WITH AN IRON GEAR ON YOUR DISTRIBUTOR SO,YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE TO A BRONZE GEAR. Carefull, 86 had hydrolic flat tappets, not roller. 87 started rollers.
