it damn sure doesn't have 250. if we are talking about a stock motor then it also depends on what trans. he has. I think w/ an auto the '86 lb9 had 190 or 210.

Coming from someone who owns one, the '86 TA's had the option of a 5.0 HO. This was a 305, TPI 190hp engine, vin F. The other TA's without the HO, received the 305 with a 4bbl carb, rated at 150hp. The only possible way that car could be 250hp, was if it came with a 350, vin 8, yet I beleave only 50 were produced in '86, and that they all went into Camaro's.

LOL, an 86 LB9 has 190HP and 285TQ, those are the Camaro #'s though, which are higher because of a better designed intake. There weren't any Third Gens with 250HP stock, 245HP yes, but thats only on some 350 TPI's.

250 HP ...Hmmm

The only GM with that power figure would have been the Corvette.

9225RS wins!

250hp sounds like a TTA to me but they were 89 anyways. Sounds like he is quotint maybe the torque of a 305 Carb???? but 250hp in 86 no way not stock.

You're a moron TPI engines were never reffered to as an "HO" engine. The T/As as well as the Camaros could be ordered with the 305 HO engine which was the L69 CARBURATED engine, rated at... 190 HP.

4bbl 305 150 HP, 4BBL HO 305 190hp, TPI's 205 HP manual or automatic. This has to be true because all three V8s were offered. I don't care what this site sayes I have all kinds of manuals from when I had my 86 that sayes this for all 86 Firebirds/ Camaros.
GM figures. They didn't care about the 5hp plust or minuse because of the aifilter set up.
All 86 cars got that damn penut cam.

DOnt worry he doesn't have 250hp and if he thinks he does its just that I have a sports car and its faster than all others voice talking.

Past Thirdgen:
86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!
