Vortec TPI update...

TPI VORTEC BASE PLATE UPDATE!

After many hours of development, the TPI Vortec Base Plate is in its final
stages. The SDPC exclusive TPI Vortec Base Plate will allow you to install
your Tuned Port Fuel Injection with factory or after-market runners and plenum
on Vortec style heads. The second prototype has been evaluated and all
changes have been submitted. We should have the final prototype approved
by the 20th of June, at which time we will put them into production.

Initial testing of the TPI Vortec Base Plate has shown promising results.
Our first test with the TPI Vortec Base Plate, was on a Vortec engine with
a stock throttle body, stock runners, 24lb injectors and a ZZ4 camshaft with
1.6:1 Rocker arms on the intake valves. The engine made 335hp @ 4600
Rpm and 410 ft/lbs @ 3600 RPM. All testing was done with a Mass Air
System and stock computer and chip. We will be testing with different throttle
bodies, camshafts and even the new Edelbrock E-Tec 200cc aluminum heads
starting the week of June 11th. Stay tuned!!!

Seriously though, you'd think that if they're taking this long to market this casting, why not put EGR on it and make it emissions legal? Christ, its taken long enough that CARB could have done all their testing and granted an EO#! They sent me that e-newsletter too, I don't even read the stupid things anymore. "Vortec base...on the way..." I'll believe it when I see it.

When the intake finally comes in October(my guesstament and about a year from when we were first told it was going to be done)We should <u>all NOT buy it</U> for a one YEAR and show S-D what a LONG wait feels like.
