13's from a 305?
Ok, here is what I have,
--.040 over 305,
--9.5:1 compression,
--SLP cam part# 51002, Dur 258/264, Dur @ .050 206/212, lift 480/487 Centerline 112
--SLP 1 3/4" headers,
--SLP 3" cat back exhaust,
--1LE Aluminum driveshaft,
--Ported & polished Intake, runners, & plenum.
--3.73 Richmond Gears
--Boxed in control arms & pan-hard
--Frame connecters
I would love low to mid 13's.. or is fast never fast enough?

13s, I dont see why not with your cam and mods. But the headers are a bit big for a 305, I'd try some 1 5/8". Its funny - TPI motors - a 1.47" intake runner and a 1 3/4" exhaust tube thats backwards. Man they should have made the TPI 1 3/4" runner.

I think you should see high 13s no problem, with good traction of course. You know of the only for sure way to find out though...... Let us know how it goes.

I agree on the headers being too big. 1 5/8 is the biggest that is recommended. I believe the 1 3/4 cuts low-end torque.(305s need all they can get) You didn't say what you were running in the 1/4 right now. Here's a few ideas--A custom burned chip,an adj.fuel pres.reg.(between 48 and 53psi works best)<--(try this before bigger injectors),better heads, long rod-short piston(gives much better airflow for 305s),52mm TB. This should be enough for mid to low 13s. Then there is always nitrous and blowers but, I think you were refering to a naturally aspirated setup. Hope this helped.

I agree, I ran best of 14.21@96mph (14.5 normally) with my 92Z28convt5spd 3:08 posi, hollow cat, coolant bypass, and ported stock plenum, intake and runners. Imagine if I had bumped the timing up a bit, added an Adj FPR, used drag radials vice stock Eagle GA's and had something other than the stock suspension.

I think my BIGGEST problem is I am only running an 86 STOCK chip, My next mods will be:
--better Cold air intake & filter than the 87 Stock crap
, Thinking of RAM AIR
.
--adj Fuel pres reg.
--Airfoil
--underdrive Pulleys
--Custom chip (Thinking of learning how to Burn my own)
If that does not work I am going for the $2100 Vortech 350 and ploping my TPI on it. it should help a little. That is actually why i went to the larger exhaust.
I find it frustrating because I can hardley break loose (not a bad thing to have traction though)
The car feels like it is pulling around high 14's low 15's right now. It seems to shift too soon and not hard enough, It shifted better with my LG4 before I did the conversion to TPI.
