erratic idle when cold started.......help
when i start up my 85 TA TPI cold, the idle is all over the place... sometimes it will feel like its going to stall, but then jumps back up...i go to give it a little gas and its hesitates but after about 5 min or so it idles and runs perfect....i just replaced the fuel pump which was my major hesitation problem...im not getting any codes...i have replaced wires, plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter and pump...now what could be wrong?? again this only happens on a cold start....

this sounds familiar...
I replaced my temp sensor in the front of my 87 Intake because it had the EXACT same problem... mine would stall though untill it began to warm up.
Question, when you first start your car does the electric fan automatically kick in, mine didn't for a while then all of a sudden when it was cold I would get a fan running when it was cold. I checked the sensor and it was ok, I changed the sensor and it cured my car. The temp sensor you might need to replace is the one with the two wire plug under your throttlebody on the intake.
The part was only 12 bucks, I had to remove the alt bracket to get to the sensor though..
