Different spin on the LT4 hot cam, come inside

ok, i have a stock LTR setup and i know that the hot cam is a bit much.
Has anyone advanced the cam while installing it to bring down more power down low where the TPI needs it?

just curious....i think that maybe i should do tests of straight up and advanced because retarding it would obviously put the powerband up too high.

any opinions?

I have a ported Edelbrock base (Felpro 1205 gasket)and 52mm throttle body, but the runners are stock on my car and my cam is advanced 2 degrees. I think the car feels really good, even though I am running a 2:77 rear gear right now. The car is pretty weak (seems stock) until it reaches about 2800-3000 rpm and then it starts making a ton of torque. The car feels sort of like a 2 stroke dirt bikes power band 8^) I am installing a set of 3:70 gears soon and could let you know what it does for me. I have ran it at Famoso raceway in Bakersfield California about 5 times with this motor and each time it was well over 100 degrees out. My launch sucks! The best 60' I have ever had is a 2.21, so I could do better with practice. My best time is in my signature. Hope this helps.....
