Removed cat = lack in power?

I removed the cat the other day, the car doesn't seem to pull nearly as hard as it used.. is the back pressure too low? whats the deal?

Most people claim a reduction in low-end torque. I personally gained from gutting my cat. Because mine was probably clogged. Tell me, did you just take the stuffing out of it or did you actually stick a pipe in it? Some people claim to lose power when there's no pipe inside the cat. Might want to read the exhaust board. Lots of questions and answers about this over there.

I have heard all sorts of stories also. I wasn't sure if TPI engines needed more back pressure than i have... I have no guts and no pipe. I do have a cat i can put on so i will eventually be able to run a pipe through the gutted cat and still have one spare to pass the smog tests.
