First of all...let me make a brief "hello". I purchased an 85 T/A from my fathers collection of "mid life crisis toys" when I was 17. 6 Years later, and about 15k miles rolled on, I haven't done a single mod to this car. It's a bone stock 305 TPI with about 64k miles. Besides the coolant bypass, what are some other GOOD (and cheap) HP gaining mods? I am on a really tight budget being I am paying for tuition right now. But I am getting all to tired of being spanked. Just a quick note...once I do get out of school and my bills are payed, she's getting a fresh 383 dropped in...But for now some "riggin" is in order. Help???

The first things I did was to put in K&N airfilters and an airfoil. You will need two filters of course. The filters were about $40 for both. The airfoil was also about $40. The next mod was a hypertech chip and that was a real big help for my 305 tpi. That was about $180. For more ideas and prices check out summitracing.com

88 Iroc, 305 TPI, Hypertech chip, K&N's, Airfoil, Flowmaster American Thunder, High-Flow cat, 160 therm. Bosch Platinum +4's, American Racing Rims, air baffles removed, removed screens from MAF sensor, more mods soon.

Of course...um....2? Did the Camaros have dual inlets? Or am I just missing something here. I have a single (very restrictive) air box. Was kinda thinking about pulling it out and using a K&N Conical with maybe 3" PVC or equivlant in aluminum/steel.

Your T/A has a different intake than his. Doing away with the stock air box and puting a cone there would be a good change. Just keep it near that fender opening, where the cold air is coming in.
I would pass on the air foil, more of a throttle response thing than a power thing.
Look into a chip, but not a hypercrap. Try an off-the-shelf ED Wright chip $150. www.fastchip.com
Look into a good cat back exhaust- slp, edelbrock, flowmaster, hooker, etc. You can usually see some decent gains with this. about $275
Headers help too, when your ready for that.
Port your plenum, and match the runners to it. Free and it helps.
This would be a good start, care to add to it guys?
