ZZ3 or SLP cam?

I can buy either cam used from a friend of mine. My set up is this:
-AS&M runners and fully matched and ported plenum
-Edelbrock manifold
-52mm T/B
-24LB injectors w/AFPR
-SLP cat back w/hi flow converters
-SLP torque converter

Which cam will work better with my setup? I will buying better heads soon (Edelbrock or Trick Flow 23*) and SLP 1 3/4 headers. Which will work better in the long run?

SLP cam.
Duration 270/280 degrees
Dur @ .050" 214/224 degrees
1.5:1 Lift .470/.490"
Centerline 115 degrees

.

ZZ3 cam
.05" duration 208/221
1.5:1 lift .474 .510
1.6:1 lift .510 .544
112 lobe seperation.

Thanks in advance!!

lt4 hot cam(218/228-.525in.525ex.) can be had for cheaper i would install it 1.5* advanced to build on the low end tourqe cause you don't need the cam to run to 6300 like a gen 2 motor.....however you must tap the dowel pin in a bit for it to fit under the 3rd gen timing cover.

I'd get the SLP cam. You have the mods now to support it for sure. After you get the heads done, it might be small.

Kevin,

Should I go for the ZZ3 then? I plan on some big HP/TQ numbers down the line and don't wanna change cams every tim I do something to the motor. Will it be waaay too big for now?

Thanks!

I agree with Pete go with a LT4 Hot Cam. I have it in my 350 TPI and love it. But if it has to be between the ZZ3 or SLP I'd go with the SLP cam with your set up

I said use the SLP cam, but if you want bigger numbers then go with the LT4 HOT cam or bigger.

Either of those cams won't make you a lot of top end power. For the price of the hot cam, you can't beat it. The hot cam beats both of those cams.
