tpi problems
here recently i broke the chip for the computer on my car and ordered one from hawks (same service #). when i put it in i had to try 4-5 times to get it to turn over. now it turns over but when i put it in drive it idles around 300 and dies. just wonderin if anyone else has had this happen to them, or any solutions would be helpful. its a 92 l98 by the way

Re: tpi problems
Sounds like you are not getting enough fuel. When i swapped my 305 for a 350 I had to have a chip burned to increase the fuel to make it run. Before I had the new chip put in it did the exact same thing yours is doing.

Re: tpi problems
Is this a completely stock set-up? Is it possible you had some static electricity and spiked the PROM or ECM when installing it? Also, it is possible they just sent you a bad one or the ECM died the same time this chip broke.

yeah its a mostly stock except for runners and exahust. ill get in touch with hawks to see if i can get another one monday, and hopefully that will fix it. im thinking it may be the timing is off also cause its real choppy, when it runs, but im open to all possibilities at this point

Don't go fishing just yet...maybe take a step back and let us know...
Why you "broke the chip"...had to be a reason why you were pulling/playing with it....
So, being the reasonng man I am, I have to ask...how was it running before you "broke the chip"?
If it was running good, why/what were you messing with to break it?
Don't take offense, but more info is better info.
