Another IAC question
When trying to adjust the IAC by the way decribed in the tech section, my car idled at about 1200 rpms with the connector unplugged. With the connector in it idles at a sloppy 600 rpms (not very strong). Also, my clip on the side of the IAC connector is broke and when I turned the ignition to run it made a humming noise and when I pushed in on it the humming stopped. Anybody ever had any of these problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

did you adjust your tps at the same time? it's best if you do them together. I think the idle from the factory is somewhere around 500rpm so 600 really isn't that far off. You need to replace that plug. Just get one of those tools to let you slide the wires out of the broken one and get a new one from GM. Just make sure you remember what goes where!

Thanks for the info.
But I want my car to idle a little higher, like 650 to 700. And what about the car idling at 1200 with the IAC unplugged? It is supposed to be at like 450 or something. What is going on there?
And I am pretty sure the 90-92 TPS is self adjusting so I didn't mess with that.

[I have an '88 so I'm not sure your is the same]
Or, something is not letting your throttle plates close completely?
Or, you not really turning the torx screw?
Just some guesses!
