cold start plug HELP!!!
Hey. We are going to dyno my AFR headed 355 next week and forgot to plug the fuil rail opening on my 1986 Iroc for cold-start. The runner is already plugged, but the back of the rail is not. Does the newer style not have an opening at all(machined different) or do they just have some kind of cap? What has everyone else used?
Thanks
Chris

I haven't tried this but here is a quote form an e-mail.
"Get a 16 mm oil drain plug, saw off the unthreaded part with a hacksaw, and
get a copper washer, 5/8" I think. Then use the washer and plug to plug the
end of the fuel rail. I also used Loctite blue just to make sure. About $5 in
parts at most parts stores. -JW"

I was reading on the prom board that you could pull the cold start fuse. Would that eliminate the need of a plug or not.
Thanks

external...haha...lol
He's right though, if the cold-start is plugged in and the plumbing is all connected, all that is needed is to pull the fuse.

Did you read Traxion's prom burning tech article yet? Lots of good info there.. As long as you don't ask people to do it FOR you, you'll find lots of people willing to help you on the PROM burning board of this BBS, too!

Yea. I am using a friends stock 89 350 chip right now, but I thought the chips were physically the same(27C128), just different programs. So i can program my stock chip and take the cold start out of it? Correct??
Thanks for all your help.

And to answer one of your questions, the 89-92 fuel rails simply do not have any opening at all.
