LT1/LS1 350 engine block

I was thinking of getting a 350 4th gen block and putting a the TPI set-up on it. Will this work or is it entirely different?

Re: LT1/LS1 350 engine block

gen 1(tpi) heads will not work on a LS1 block...way different.

not sure about the LT1 block....the timing area is different i believe plus the stuff for the cooling so i pretty sure it can't be used.

Re: LT1/LS1 350 engine block

Yeah, the LS1 stuff is totally different.

The LT1 stuff is REAL close, and with a LOT of custom work, technically it is possible to do, but certainly not for the "average" joe. Consider it not possible. The fartherst I think anyone has really taken it has been LT1 heads on a traditional 350 block.

Don't forget Gen 1 heads on the LT1/LT4. it can be done with some machine work as well. Several of the high dollar racers running LTx's do the swap.

Re: LT1/LS1 350 engine block

LS1 fuel injection is so much better than TPI anyway, it'd be foolish to bother.

Go with the 411 PCM and gain all the benifits of the LS1 EFI

Plugs and wires are harder on the LT1 vs the LS1.

If you have to ask this question... you are not ready for the type of custom work or this type of task...

Some of these cars sound like Johnny Cash's Caddy.
