Books on TPI?
I know they sell a book at Jegs called "TPI Insider Hints". I havent purchased it, or know anyone that has. So I can't tell you how good it is. But IMHO you probably can get more info from here if you look hard enough and ask.

What I'm looking for is a book with theory on how the system works and diagrams of the system. There's plenty of info on here, but it would be nice to have a book that compiles a lot of information in one easy to find place. Sometimes searching the forum or posting just doesn't yield the answer your looking for.

I'd recommend "How to tune and modify Chevrolot fuel injection" by Ben Watson. It might not tell you "this is what's wrong", but it has enough info - EFI principles and specifics related to scanner readings - to get you thinking about what the problem could be. It has no specific diagrams, a Chilton or Hayes would work for those.

I would recommmend getting a service manual for your car. You can get them from Helm Inc. Run about 80 bucks, but give you a wealth of information on your car, including troubleshooting.

Thanks guys. I saw the TPI swappers guide the other day at Barnes N Noble and almost picked it up. I'm going to wait on the Helms manual, since I believe they are model year specific. My car is carbed, but I'm planning on getting a newer IROC or Z-28 (88-92) next year. I just want something to tide me over until then.

I'll second this. It's been a while, but i remember thumbing through once it thinking it was a pretty complete reference on all the basics you'd need to know if you were a beginner.
