Fuel pressure drops to zero in 1 second

I have a 1986 Corvette and the fuel pressure drops to zero in one second after I turn the key off. Where is the check valve located that controls the rail fuel pressure at shut down? I have read some posts that claim the check valve is located in the fuel pump and some post claim it is located in the fuel pressure regulator. Thanks for the help.

It's both-already went through the same problem; it was the fuel press. regulator diaphragm on mine. The regulator lets the fuel pass to the return line and the fuel pump check valve prevents the fuel from returning via the supply line. If you pull up the rubber boot on top of the tank you can get to the return line where it is a rubber hose-clamp it; cycle the pump by turning on the key(don't need to start it). If the press. stays up with the return line clamped then its the regulator. Of course you could be leaking fuel through the injectors or a loose connector but if the injectors-that much fuel- it wouldn't start too well on immediate restart! And you should smell fuel also with inject. or pipe leaks. Hope this helps.
