Pick a cam for my car.
Okay, i'm tired of my cam. I'm gonna have my L98 cast iron heads prof. ported (because i don't have time) and i'm gonna siamese my intake in the spare time i have. Then have my cousin install the cam. I'm not good at picking cams so help me here. Please do tell me how it will idle. Just because i want to know what to expect. Idle isn't of importance. I can fix that in the eprom and all. Might i add that i would like to use it as a weekend / street race type car. My stall is only 1800 but i'll change that soon after along with headers.

You've already got the biggest stock cam offered in a thirdgen. And with that tall rear gear, you're going to want all the bottom-end torque you can muster(something a 'bigger' cam is not likely to improve upon).
As for the heads, by the time you've had them ported and polished, revalved, poked, prodded and otherwise modified to flow like an aftermarket head, you could've saved time and money and just bought a set of Iron Eagles or Sportsman IIs. Take the money you would spend on the cam and modified stock heads, and buy something that will make a real difference.

Something like the comp XR w/ 218/224 on a 112 LSA will idle pretty decently and not be too horrible to drive w/ the stock stall/gears, but they would certainly be the next areas to get into afterwards.
88 is right though, since you are starting w/ the biggest stock cam, if you can, holding off for a set of reasonable head will give you just as much if not more than just a cam, and kinda be easier to do as well.

Well i mean i am going to get like AFR190 heads and i'm planning a rebuild but i wanted something to hold me off for a little while as i'm still saveing money for my engine rebuild. So don't get me wrong i know new heads would be the way to go but for something to give the old girl a lil pep i figured ported heads, headers, and a cam would be the way to go. Btw, how long does it normally take to install a cam? Also the stall converter is like 1800 - 2000, The 277 rear isn't that bad except takeoff but see after the rebuild my car shifts at 2000 now. So it doesn't show the sluggishness of the 277 rear all too much unless i do a dead stop mash and even then I just spin. (yes suspension upgrade is comeing soon also)
