85 TPI Runs with vaccum leak??? Help??

Hi Guys,
Need some help, new to the site but this is my fourth third gen, and sixth camaro total and my second tpi. this one has stumped me. Ran great parked it for the winter and now i get the symptoms of it loading up. heres what ive done so far New MAF, Colant temp sensor, O2, Injectors, ignition module, super coil, accel wires, E3 plugs, Set Timing base timing at six degrees. Now for the heck of it i pulled the vaccum hose of the back of the plenum and the engine smoothed out and idled perfect. but still doesnt have any power. if i attempt to attach the hose it will kill the motor. Im out of ideas only thing i havent tried is get a scanner with data stream and see whats happening. Anybody got any anwsers???
----------
sorry forgot to add that i have no check engine lite on or any codes.

try cleaning the iac, acts like its sticking on you.take throttle body off remove iac remove bottom plate, take carb or brake cleaner and clean air passages.if this doesnt fix it check iac motor, theres an article in tech articles on homepage how to adjust iac and tps ,later jimmy

Run a tank of prem gas through it, Injectors will gum up over the winter.

Re: 85 TPI Runs with vaccum leak??? Help??

Hey guys, i replaced the IAC and reset the TPS. still doesnt run good with the vaccum hose hooked up have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running. if i run it with out the hose on it idles smooth and everything except it doesnt have any power. Could i be dealing with a couple of different problems?? I replaced the injectors after i started having the problems because i had new ones and had planned on doing it anyways. still no change. any ideas??? Thanks Brandon

Sorry I didn"t catch the new injectors.

If removing a vacuum line or foot on gas, makes it idle smooth then either your a little too rich, or it needs more idle air.

I would try opening up the idle stop. It is the screw on the opposite side from the tps. There is a little cover on the cable side to remove. Changing this will require the tps to be reset. Usually this stop is set so the iac position is at 0-20. Read the procedures and use a scanner.
