305 running rich

Alright, I am starting to get stumped here.

My car shoots black stuff when I start it up in the morning. I thought this was due to bad injectors so I replaced them with known good ones (cleaned and flow matched by cruzinperformance). They were the bosch kind as opposed to multecs. Now, my car seems to be running a lot better but I get black stuff coming out of it when I start it out in the morning. After that, even if it sits for hours it doesn't shoot it out. Its only when it stays over night.

I just changed the injectors and drove it for a day, took it on the highway and gunned it around. The idle seems a lot better, but every once in a while it would skip once and comeback. Its better than it used to be.

I am just open for suggestions at this point in time. Car is not throwing the rich code with a less than 1 year old acdelco o2 sensor. I think I am just blowing crap out of the exhaust from what the old injectors did.

i do have datalogging software and cable, but I am not sure what am looking at. If anyone has any tips of what I need to look for please let me know.

thanks guys.

What datalogging software are you using? I'm only familiar with WinALDL, but I think any of them should show your BLM value. This will show you what the ECM is doing as far as fuel amounts. Ideally, it should be at or close to 128, which you could interpret as "100% of the normal fuel amount for the current sensor readings". A BLM value higher than 128 means the ECM is adding more fuel, trying to compensate for a lean condition, and less than 128 it is pulling fuel to compensate for a rich condition. Does the exhaust smell strongly of gas? Also, have you tested your fuel pressure? My car is having a similar problem, so I feel your pain on this one :P

I usually use tunner pro rt to check stuff out. I'll run her around today and we'll see what she says.

Any other suggestions?

Re: 305 running rich

Used tunner pro today.

My BLM's were between 120-140. Most of the time they were around 125-138. It sounds like she is a bit on the lean side but close to where it should be.

Oxygen sensor went from 55 mV to 850 mV.

I had about 15 knock counts in about 20 minutes of driving and that wasn't good. HOwever, most of the knocks did not take down timing though.
Knock retard came on when I floored the car up to 5 degrees.

Map would raise with acceleration it went from .65 v to 3.87 (I was around 2-3000 RPMS did not get higher.).

What do ya see there?

If the car has set for any length of time, running a tank of premium gas will help (it has more detergents).
