first time to track!!!!86 TA 1/4 times!!!!
well i didnt do very good. i went with a really bad set of tires and the car is missing pretty bad, and idiling REALLY bad. anyway. my first run was
r/t.. .752
60'.. 2.379
330.. 6.750
1/8.. 10.417
mph.. 65.86
1000.. 13.721
1/4.. 16.575
MPH.. 78.59
THAT WAS LEAVING IT IN OD
i ran 4 more times that day(running a 16.181,16.096,16.051, and my last run....
r/t.. .751
60'.. 2.314
330.. 6.657
1/8.. 10.259
mph.. 68.48
1000.. 13.364
1/4.. 16.015
mph.. 84.45
after the first run i started shifting manually and had a better run each time i raced. i think i could have hit some low 15.9's or some high 15.8's if i would have had some better r/t's and 60' times. i just couldnt get used to the light. and i couldnt find a way to launch the car. i tried mashing it and it spun like crazy, and then i tried to hold the gas and brake and drop it at the line and it still spun. but i had a blast and i am going back real soon. anyway if the car was running good and i had some decent 60' times i think i could have hit some 15.6's. what do u think?

Not too bad for 2.77s and bad tires. Here are some things that will help you get a bit quicker.
Install AFPR to bring that FP up.
Check base timing and make sure you're at 10-12 BTDC (assuming you don't have a chip).
If budget allows, get some 3.42 gears to get into the lower 15s.

yea man not bad i hit a 16.09 with 12 dergees of timing retard on a 3.08 open diff rear with bald tires. then fixed timing and hit a 15.1 with a 2.73 rear open diff. so u are on track. mods are below
------------------
305, TPI,compucam 2030 cam, air foil, 8.8 wires, accel super coil, dynomax headers, custom y-pipe, cut out, 80 series flowmaster, 2.73's and an open diff(3.42-3.73 on the way). and a stage 4 chip :0). hittin a sad 15.2 before the chip.

I wouldn't say "not bad". Not to disrespect, but my stock '87 LG4 ran 16.0's all day long. That was w/ 2.73 peg leg rear and crappy tires. Just by converting my LG4 to Tuned Port put me in the low 15's
Definatly do all the "free" mods, and get some headers. Other than my TPI retrofit, the headers was the biggest improvement.

Not a good idea to put it through that abuse if it is missing and idleing so badly...
