350 w/ single cat?

I know it wasn't produced. But lets say someone was dumb enough to put a 350 into a car with the stock single cat exhaust. Would the car even run or what just curious? Shouldn't be to hard for you guys. I have seen you answer some tough stuff before so this should be cake.

I have an 89 iroc with a single cat exhaust. It came from the factory with a 350. Dual cats were an option.

my bad I thought all G92 cars had dual cats and all 350's had to have one of the G92's. Cool just curious.

I don't have a G92 option, wish I did though. I think the FAQ breaks it down about which year got what, and what G92 included that year.

My 92 has a single cat, and I put a 350 in it and it runs great. Especially after I transformed the exhaust into straight pipe. Yes the single cat is stock.

It would run fine as you can see by the replies of these people with single cats. However, it is not optimum and will take away 5hp or so... not a big deal, especially considering a set of headersa, a replacement high flow cat, and a catback will solve that problem in a hurry!

My 88 IROC came with a 350 and G92 option. It only had one cat stock. I think the thing runs great.

87-88 L98's would all have single-cats, because dual-cats werent available. 89 L98 would have single-cat standard, and G92 and dual-cats being an option. 90-92 L98's all have G92 and dual-cats standard.

In addition, my 86' has the G92 option as well. But, as others have noted - dual cats were not available until 89'. If my memory serves me right, G92 just refers to a performance axle ratio.
