How do I removed injectors from fuel rail?

How do you remove the injectors from the fuel rail? Do the clips just pull out?

Re: How do I removed injectors from fuel rail?

There is a tutorial on this website. I used it, step by step, 123, duck soup.
https://www.thirdgen.org/injectorswap

14.Turn the fuel rail upside down so you have the injectors facing up. Using a flat blade screwdriver, rotate the clip that holds the injector to the fuel rail to the left (clockwise) only until it reaches the flat area, then grip the injector firmly and wiggle the injector while pulling up on it. It takes a fair amount of effort to remove the injector from the fuel rail, so be aware.

Re: How do I removed injectors from fuel rail?

The fuel rail is difficult (impossible) to turn upside down if you don't completely disconnect the fuel lines. I swapped injectors just the other day by only removing the 4 fuel rail hold down bolts.

....use a flat bladed screwdriver to move the clips from left to right (right to left?). Either way, once you have 'em in the right place, I use the wiggle and twist method as described earlier. Although I had previously removed the injectors a few years back, even that time I didn't find them too difficult to remove. Not like they fell out, but they didn't give me too many headaches or anything.

More importanly, during RE-installation, coat the Orings with a little oil to help pop 'em in.
