Help!!!! Big POP!!! whole car shut off!!L@@K Pics inside of what happened!!!AAHH!!!!
Ok I get up at 5 in the morning to drop my car off at the dealership, to get the door repainted. I dont even drive thing really anymore, so I havent drivin it in about 2 weeks, cause its sold. Well yesterday I was takin some nitrous stuff off and I forgot to move the harness. I drive about 2 miles to the Gas Station, right when I pull in, POP!!!!! everything goes out!!!!! No headlights no nothin, the headlights didnt even go down. The only thing that works is the interior lights???No dash no lights when I turn the key foward, NOTHING!!!!I checked the fuses too, they are all good!!! I think its my fusable link??? Where is it located so I can check it?
Heres a pic, this is right by the heater box, kinda a goofy angle, but if you dont notice it see the dipstick for the trans. Also the red wire I melted see how it has a snap plug to the right!!!!

Figure out what else is on that circuit; you have a short that will need to be located and fixed. Then you fix that wire. Then you're good to go again.
The fusible link is part of the bundle of wires that go to the starter (and other things)

I located the short, its where the wire is cut up!!! It fell on the header and I had to pull it off cause it was melted to it. Still I have nothing but the interior lights. So it has to be the fusable link right?

Check your in-line fuses near the battery. Not all the fuses are under the drivers side.

The wire you show appears to be the AC blower main power feed to the relay. This wire originates at the starter on the large lug. Goes through a fusible link(this is attached to the starter lug) and becomes a branch(the other branch(es) go to the inside of the car. You should only need to replace the fusible link. Remove the wires from the large lug of the starter. Inspect them for melting, seperation or if you see nothing continuity. The loud POP you describe leads me to believe that the fusible link will be totally gone.

the only way to open that up is by destroying it in the process.it sounds to me like the fusable link if it is there is one way of checking it.take a test light to the starter terminals, since that is a series circut one leg will theoretically kll the whole set.(kina like christmas lights take one bulb out and all are dead same principle).
Should I do this with the ignition on or off?? So what your saying is just stick a testlight on the bigger terminal and if it doesnt light that means its bad? Sorry for so many ?s I havent done this ever!!!

A bad fuseable link will either stretch when you pull on both ends or it will be squishy (it's an industrial term) when you mash it between your fingers. Take your multi meter and test continuity across the link my sticking the wires with a safety pin. Hope this helps.
