About Timing

I was wondering, right now off the line my car has awesome power but is hard to get the wheels from spinning. If I retard the timing a little bit (it is already advanced)i know it will affect the launch but will it help out up top?
Thanks, Gary

now ive heard it all. dont do it, it might slow you down off the line, but it will also slow you down all across the rpm range too. you might wanna look and see the condition of your tires and suspension. how old are your shocks and struts?

dont de-tune your engine to compensate for
suspension/driveline pitfalls. get a stickier
tire, traction adders, suspension correction
products, pedal the car off the line.
id think the right to de-tune falls under
4-6000 horsepower vehicles. most people on
these forums want power... readjust your
suspension and tire selection.
