for looks or for function

I've always said "anything for more power".. but.. i'm hard pressed to get rid of my TPI.. why? because of all the people going "Oh, you got TPI? let me see!" when i talk about my car (well.. around here there's not many TPI cars.. mostly TBI and carb, one cross-fire corvette, but anyways) so it's not all spiffied up, i'm just starting mods cuz it's too cold ouside to do other things (yay canada) so i busy myself in my dads' lovelly heated garage (after i take my parents' cars/truck out) doing minor things to my car, mostly cosmetic and staring at the 302 (pretty much just the block and crank.. stuff laying on the floor beside it and a turbo.. which after looking at it closelly.. starting to think it should get "checked out" by a prof.. anyways.. bought a book on it today.. ) so, everybody tells me a 6500 rpm monster tpi don't exist... (ya'll know what i mean, right?... check post "high rev 305 tpi") go for the 750 holley and so forth.. wellllll... tpi just looks cool, i'd like to state that again.. but it's harder to fine tune (if you don't burn proms and such, which i want to get into tho) and it's also limiting and more costly for parts (runners and such).. but it looks soo pretty.. ok, enough of that. so my question is turbo charge it and my high rev limited air intake problem will go away, right?.. right?.. 10 psi boost, i was thinkin'.. or should i go turbo carb? hrm.. yes.. ppl ask me what i want and "why not a 350?!".. well.. four words.. NOT ANOTHER FREAKIN' 350!!!.. too many of those. i'm planning.. t'is why the motor isn't going to get touched t'll it's all planed out.. i'm planning a 350~ hp naturally aspired chevy 302.. 450~ with the turbo and at higher rpms, flatter torque curve (still with the turbo here).. neways.. what do you all think thirdgens?

many have installed super-chargers and turbo chragers
on TPI before. most are happy with the result.
those that arent, usually go to the super ram
because of the large plenum volume. stuffing
a lot of air in a compact space seems to crowd
the performance on the upper end.
just an idea.

no 302 cid.. i've got a 305 right now.. it's a 350 L98 block with a custome 3" stroke crank.. hence making it a 302.. but i'm wondering if i should bore it .030 over so it's a 306.. but that's stupid stuff that's not in the question that i asked..
go for looks of the tpi (with a turbo)with the not as good high rpm preformance or go with a 650cfm or so carb and a turbo?

forget TPI. TPI chokes below 5000RPM. Built 302s can max 9000RPM. That is a BIG RPM difference. Go single plane EFI intake. http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...901-101-1.html

If you want to put a lot of air in there, why not consider a miniram or a converted LT1 intake along with your turbo? Seems to me you could build quite a screamer there.

Preston smith has run 9s w/ a vortec through a STOCK TPI system on a 305. Last i heard a few months ago he was still tuning his new single turbo set-up, and even in shakedown runs he was around 11 flat.
Forced induction is an easy solution to a restrictive intake.

That's quite impressive, Ed. Do you know how much boost he is putting in there?
