I just got a set of performer rpm heads and was wondering what effect not having an exh. crossover would have.
I have read this is where the EGR ties in
I dont undergo a smog check or anything just wondering if the TPI will still work.

I just bought the same heads and was wondering the same thing. The only difference is that I have to go through emissions tests, anyone know if ill be able to pass.

 

The TPI will still work, although depending on the setup it may or may not have a fit and set a code. You can pass emissions without it.

I run those heads. No EGR hooked up what so ever. I run the stock 1987 5.7L prom. No error codes.

Never had the emissions tested.

So it should run for you. The emissions will depend on the rest of your combination, but there are people who have passed.
