Running Codes for beginners.... q's w/in

I bought an 85 IROC a little over a year ago for 800 bucks, anyways i got the thing running over the summer but i know after sitting for so long (it sat in a field most of its life), its gotta be throwing codes. Sooo, without using an expensive scan tool, how would i go about checking the codes? I looked in the tech articles but didn't see anything, maybe i missed it or something.

Thanks for the help,
Eric

Zup,

You could also do an archive search. You'd probably find a link to this file:

GM Error Codes.pdf

It has everything you'll need except the paper clip.
