Cold driving engine knock and pinging
Cold driving engine knock and pinging
Every cold morning I start my car, let it run about 5 mins before driving, then after about five minutes of driving I reach a hill that I have to climb.
When I climb the hill my motor stocks to knock, when the motor is at full temp it doesn't knock on that same hill.
I run 87 octane, all I can afford right now, I'm pretty sure this is the problem of the knocking and pinging, but I just thought I'd ask if there was any other possibilities....

Check your timing. It could be off. Check your knock sensor too. If it is working properly then you should not hear any detonation because the timing would be retarded.
Good luck.
Good luck.
