engine won't start

well, my car decided to take a **** yesterday. i was driving home, and noticed that my rpm's where fluctuating abnormally at idle. when i gave the car gas, it stopped doing this, but sometimes, as soon as i let off the gas it would begin to fluctuate again. then, as i drove further, i heard a loud pop come from beneath the hood, and it felt like i had lost a lot of power, but the car was still drivable. afterwards, the car kept stalling, and sometimes when i gave it gas, it would not respond. i got the car halfway into my garage when it finally died and would not start again. i tried to start it about 4 times, and each time, it would start, then die. it once reved itself to about 3k, then died. this morning i was a ble to get it started by turning it over, then giving it gas. i turned the car off to see if i could do it again, but it wouldn't. it sounjds like a computer problem to me, and i don't have the tools to see what codes it's spitting out. the car is getting towed tommorow.

does anyone have any idea what it could be? any help would be greatly appreciated. i suspect it to be a problem withthe computer, but i have no idea. the engine is an l98, btw.

Re: engine won't start

the fluctuating rpm could be many things. i would check your air filter. you could have dirty or clogged fuel injectors.
