hi just wanted some advice on removing the egr valve and blocking it off will the ecm go into limphome mode?

It may not revert to the backup fuel and spark, or "Limp Home" mode, but you'll probably get that nasty yellow light on your dash staring you in the face on the highway. Even the TBI cars have some diagnostics for the EGR, through the MAP sensor change when the valve is commanded open.

I don't know about removal but my egr valve was leaking exhaust and it had triggered off another scensor, to me it seems like everything works as a system, so it may not scence your egr but the ecm may pick up something else. Good luck

 

thanks for reply i will leave things standard to save me from that dreaded yellow light appearing
