Does AFPR + 30# injectors = bad gas mileage?

Over the winter I put in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 255 lph pump and 30# injectors along with a handful of other engine mods. From what I was told I wouldn't need to burn a new chip if I just turned the fuel pressure way down. I did just that and I'm seriously getting like 8mpg. I'm not sure what my psi is because my pressure tester didn't fit my schrader valve. The only other thing I can think of, and i'm already pretty sure I'm swapping it for a 180 is the 160 degree thermostat I put in.

Would burning that new chip help me out much or should I just try and tamper with my fuel pressure a little more? Would my car need to be present to burn a new chip, because I'm thinking of just asking a guy from these boards to burn me one for less that the $125 a local shop is asking just to upgrade the injectors, not a full tune. Thanks for taking the time to read this long @$$ post.

I dont know who told you that you wouldnt need a new chip with 30# injectors, but I would not take any more advice from them. You cant realistically lower it enough with those injectors to work.

Get rid of the injectors, or get the chip reprogrammed for 30's.

Yeah I've got it backed off all the way just about so I kinda figured that. The only reason I put the 30s in was because I basically got them for free. Do you know if my car needs to be present for that or would a guy on the boards here be able to burn a chip for me?

Just a switch from the stock 22's to 30's is a simple change in the chip. It should, in theory, be the only change required if thats all that was changed.

just curious, what all is done to your engine to justify the need for injectors that large?

Nothing is really done to justify injectors that large, aside from nitrous, but I got them basically for free with a nitrous kit I bought on the classifieds here. I figured I might as well put them in because everyone I've talked to says "make sure you have enough fuel" when I bring up nitrous.
