Fuel Problems
Fuel Problems
Have 85 Z28, recent rebuild.305 to 350 with 305 TPI sys. Already replaced fuel pump. Problems is it seems that the ECM is not sending signal to fuel pump and injectors. Do a direct lead on pump. Works and floods out injectors. The injectors seem that they arn't purging to the block? The check eng. light will not come on eighter. Tried a different ECM, but still having same problems. Can someone HELP...

1st check your fuel pump relay. It's located on the drivers side firewall ... I don't know which one it is but do a search on the message board and you should be able to find pics.. or you can ask Vader, he has pics.
2nd check your fuel pump FUSE.... it's NOT in the fuse box in the passenger compartment of the car. Rather it's under the hood somewhere. On my '86 it's on the drivers side up front near the battery. Again, Vader probably has pics of this fuse and where it's located.. he has an '86 also though.... not sure how many times GM relocated this fuse throughout the years.
Both of these items will cause the problems you're talking about.

4 Wheel Disc Brakes
9 bolt Borg Warner Rear (2.77's....oh joy) :P
6" rods, approx. 9.7:1 Compression, Stock TPI (soon to be ported), 24#/hr LTI injectors (cleaned and flowmatched by Cruizin Performance), Hedman Shorty Headers, 3" exhaust with 80 series flowmaster, SBC 993 heads completely redone and modified for 1.6 RR, 1.52 RR (for now), Comp Cams XE262-14 TPI Cam, Holley AFPR, TPIS airfoil, MSD wires, MSD 6-AL Ignition, Hypertech 53,000 volt coil.
Track times to come.

Mr. Kidd are you talking about the circuit braker to reset the ECM? Ck'd fuel relay all wire look good and getting volts. Ck'd all the fusses there all good too. I'm really don't know what to check out anymore. When I crank up the motor and mist gas down the throttle it will run. It's like I'm just not getting the fuel to the injectors?

Sounds to me like you are not getting voltage to the ecm do you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key on. Do you have a noid light that you could put into one of your injector harness connectors to see if the ecm is turning the injectors on when cranking the engine.

Well yes I've got power to the ECM, and yes I can hear the pump come on with the turn of the ignition. I have not ran a direct to the injectors. From the ECM to the injectors? Other than Psi how can I tell if the injectos are giving me the right amount of fuel?

You need to check for a signal from the computer to the injectors you can use a noid light or a harness injector tester(60$ autozone)the light will flash when cranking the engine if the computer is seeing and sending a signal. If no signal no injector pulse.
