What effect does removing a smog pump and all accessories from a 305 tpi have?

What effect does removing a smog pump and all accessories from a 305 tpi have?

I have an 88 Trans Am all stock, i want to remove the smog sh*t including all the air tubes, hoses, pump, and the little black box with two wire connectors leading to it, i am thrown off and dont know what effect this will have and if it is computer controlled or not. someone plese help. email me or post here, thanks alot.

Axle/Gears: 8.8 rear, 4.56 gears, 4:1 transfer
You can remove all the A.I.R. stuff (smog) and be just fine. Cleans up the engine bay greatly. Leave EGR alone unless you burn a new prom though.

what can be taken off? My engine is way too cluttered and am lookin for a way to get rid of unneccesary stuff. What items can be removed?

How do you do the smog removal? I would definately be interested in that. I hate all that cluttered crap.

If you ground park in the neutral safety switch the computer does not look at the the egr sensors
