Is Any one useing the coolant bypass kits for the throttle body on thier tpi cars. They claim 12-15 hp gain. But warn not to use it during the winter. I have one I'm going to try, we get a lot of 100* + days up here in Red Bluff Ca..

 

the only problem youd has is when it gets down to within freezing temperatures which could cause the throttle to freeze up if theres any moisture in there, but if it just gets cold like 45 to 45* degrees and not 30 to 25* and below. you should be fine

 

You do not need to waste your $ on the kit.Just reroute the hoses to bypass the TB.Use a piece of copper tubing with 2 hose clamps to extend the one hose longer

 

I just went to the auto parts store and bought an L shaped hose for $10. Routes perfectly from the manifold to the plastic coolant valve.

 

i just took one of the existing hoses, bent it in half and clamped it onto the other end. no flow needs to go through it. and it was FREE.

 

so a few of you are bypassing the TB . did any of you notice any difference?
Was it worth it?

 

No, not really in terms of any noticeable gain.
