I fear the water pump on my 91 305 tpi may have ended it's life, anyway to check this out?

 

Take it off and spin it. If you feel it catching or grinding, it's cashed.

Also look around the "weeping" holes for expelled fluid. Watch for small steaming leaks where it contacts the block, or just keep the fluid topped off, run it til it pops, and you usually get quite an impressive mushroom cloud of antifreeze.

Thanks man, i'll be checking it tommorrow hopefully it would solve my over heating problem
