which stock air box is better

Transmission: 700R4 auto
Axle/Gears: 3.27 BorgWarner
which stock air box is better
should i keep the stock 1985 airbox
or should i use the air box i have from a 1989 tpi
do any of these have any benifits over the other?
i was thinking of using the 89 and opening up the air box somewhat but i do believe there is a link saying its not wise to do so
id like to hear some imput thx!
