Just have a simple question about TPI wiring harness...

I have bought a complete TPI setup from a 89 Camaro.

I have also found a TPI wiring harnes (used) from a 88 Camaro that has a cold start injector. My TPI setup has not this injector since it is from 89.

Will this wiring harness still fit my setup?..Is it just the PROM I need to change on the ECM, to specific 89 model?...

 

Do you have a Helms manual for your car? The only way to be sure if it will work is to check the wire/pin relationship between the 2 cars or between your car and the harness on the ecm plugs. G.M. has a tendency to change the pins around even when using the same plugs for the various ecms depending on what ecm and what system is used.

My T/A was originally a Carbureted car. We converted it to speed density and used a tbi harness, but we had to go through and move the wires around to get the correct wires in the right pins for the tpi as well as install wires for sensors that the tbi didn't use.

 

Sorry, but I don't have this manual...And I noticed that you have written to me on my fuel line question. Everything I buy is from Ebay so I don't have any Camaro to get parts from. I only find listed items on Ebay. I live in Norway so it is VERY HARD to find a junk yard car..I can almost guarantee here is no Junk yard car at all..Everybody want to restore them if they are being crashed...

I think this wiring harness would work on my car. Because I see that tpiparts.net produces this plug kit for the Cold start Injector and that seems to me that, every harness from 85-89 could be used only you got the right PROM for the year, and setup.

 

I'm curious about this also, someone on here surely has to be able to answer this.......BUMP

 

reprogram the prom and cut all the 9th injector out
