HELP!!! Fuel pressure??

So i changed out all my injectors on a 305 with new 19lbs racetronix ones. It is now hard to start after an 8 hr soak and runs like **** i have spark, and fuel no vacuum leaks when running it has 40 psi of fuel pressure, I pinched off the return line which gave me about 80 psi and the car instantly ran better. I think thats way to high can anyone help me?

Re: HELP!!! Fuel pressure??

First of all, you hardly post anything about your engine!

2nd, what fuel pressure were the 19#/hr Racetronics rated at?

3rd, what is the fuel pressure with the vacuum line removed from the FPR?

4th, what induction system do you have on the engine?

Are we supposed to guess at all this stuff?

Re: HELP!!! Fuel pressure??

Sorry i was in a rush its a TPI, its 50 psi with the vacuum lines removed and the fpr is new. The injectors are rated at 3 bar which is like 40 psi

Re: HELP!!! Fuel pressure??

So you had to remove the fuel rail in order to replace the injectors. You also removed the runners and plenum. I recommend that you retrace all of your disassemly steps and re-assembly process.
Did you do anything to the distributor?
Do you have all of the fuel injector connectors on correctly? They can be tricky.
Are you sure you purchased the correct injectors?
Are all of the vacuum lines connected to the back of the plenum?
What about the vacuum line that goes under the plenum, up to the TB, and connects to a T.
Stand orer the engine and mentally go over every step. Also, was the engine running like crap before you installed the new injectors?

Re: HELP!!! Fuel pressure??

Everything has been gone through over and over everything is where it should be. The engine was running fine before the change so its not a preexisting condition. All injectors are clicking i unpluged one injector at a time and noted a drop in rpm but when i did it to injectors 4,6, and 8 there was no drop but it doesnt feel like its misfiring on 3 cylinders. I took around the block and i would feel a miss that bad but i didnt feel it. There not leaking cause fuel pressure doesnt drop with the engine off. and all plugs are firing.

Re: HELP!!! Fuel pressure??

A hard starting car after a few hours of sitting is a sign of a leaky FPR. Pull your vacuum line to the FPR and see if gas dribbles out.

if you pull an injector and nothing happens return the injectors and read the previous threads about which injectors tpi gurus use
